5 Important Water Tests in 60 Seconds
AquaChek simplifies water testing for you. Each AquaChek 5 Dip and Check Test Strip allows you to conduct 5 important water tests in less than 60 seconds. Fast and reliable, these strips can accompany you anywhere in the field.
Each AquaChek 5 strip tests:
Free Chlorine - Free Chlorine is the Chlorine that most actively sanitizes contaminants including bacteria and water-born diseases in public water systems. When Free Chlorine levels exceed 1.0 part per million, a chlorine taste can result. AquaChek 5 test strips test a range of 0 to 4 parts per million of Free Chlorine.
Total Chlorine - Total Chlorine is the sum of Free Chlorine and Combined Chlorine chloramines. Combined Chlorine is used to eliminate the bacteria in some municipal water systems. Total Chlorine levels above 1.0 part per million may give water an unpleasant odor and taste. This test is excellent for determining Chlorine breakthrough when using carbon filters. A Total Chlorine reading within the range of 0 to 10 parts per million can be detected with an AquaChek 5 test strip.
Total Hardness - AquaChek measures calcium and magnesium hardness in water. Although not harmful, a reading above 3 grains per gallon can cause pipes and fixtures to scale and may inhibit soap from lathering. AquaChek 5 measures Total Hardness from 0 to 25 grains per gallon.
Total Alkalinity - Total Alkalinity measures the amount of alkaline materials in water. Readings above 120 parts per million can indicate a level sufficient to cause fixtures and pipes to scale, and may account for unpleasant taste in drinking water. AquaChek 5 tests Total Alkalinity from 0 to 240 parts per million.
pH - pH tests the intensity of acidic or alkaline materials in water. Typical levels for drinking water range from 6 to 9. A pH below 6.5 indicates excess acidity which can lead to corrosion of metal pipes. pH above 7.5 may cause poor tasting water. AquaChek 5 measures pH from 6.4 to 8.0.
